ABOUT CLUB
Club history:
A Cynological Assosiation, later the Latvian Cynological Federation was established in 1974 by the owners of three breeds: boxers,
Dobermans and great danes. So the history of Latvian boxer Club has started in 1974. The peak of popularity of the breed came in the rocks during 1980-1990. The stub book of the club numbered more than 300 members and registered about 40-60 litters per year. Unfortunately today the breed is going through the hard times! The club consists just of 40-50 members with 3-5 litters per year.
Anyway we keep on hard working to improve the situation and continue with all traditions. Each year we organize two specialty shows inviting the breed specialist-judges from different countries.
Latvian, Estonian and Lithuanian boxer clubs founded the Baltic Boxer Association in 2005. Since that time each of them has been organizing a Baltic Boxer championship awarding the title of Baltic Boxer Winner. Every year the dogs from our country take part in ATIBOX World Boxer Championship, annual breed championships of different countries showing very good results! We truly hope that our beloved Boxer will become more and more popular in Latvia!
